Wide Local or Partial Mastectomy.

This surgery leaves uneven breast shape due to approximately a quarter of the breast is removed. A partial breast form is advised to be worn to give fullness on the operated breast, this can be worn in a pocketed bra or directly onto the breast as some partials have a contact backing which adheres to the skin.

Please be advised that any contact breast form or partial contacts must only be worn when all surgery is fully healed and allow up to 6 months after all radiotherapy treatment is completed.

Continuous adhesion and removal of contact breast forms may slow the healing process on sensitive skin, any concerns please speak to your Breast Care Nurse Specialist who is familiar with your surgery.

• Slightly padded or pre-formed cups
• Seemfree (seems may irritate surgery site)
• Lace free (lace may irritate surgery site)
• Cotton lined cups
• Flexi wired or Comfort wired bras - these have very gentle underwiring, giving good shape without pressure
