Post Breast Surgery

Approximately six to eight weeks after breast surgery, once the wound is healed and has been confirmed free of any infection, we advise you to have your bra fitted prior to your breast prosthesis fitting.

Your bra should be supportive and comfortable with the prosthesis fully contained within the bra cup. Avoid harsh wires and side supports, The Bra Clinic recommends bras that have been designed for ladies who have undergone breast surgery and take into consideration

  • Fabrics.
  • Use of a flexi wires.
  • Flexi side supports.
  • Design of the bra to avoid pressure points.
  • Comfort and support to help reduce the risk of lymphoedema.

You may feel tender or sore so gradually build up the time of wearing your bra with the prosthesis, remember everyone’s healing, recovery and life style is different.
